Now that you can export the banners you created with Creatopy to SWF files, you might want to play them independently of your browser.

The first thing you can think of is to download Adobe Flash Player. But since you used Creatopy, that means you already have the flash player installed. However Adobe Flash Player won’t solve your problem, as it still uses a browser to play SWF files, and you need a player that would play the SWFs independently, right?

Don’t search for “adobe swf player” as you will get this page. Dead end.

However, Adobe has indeed such a SWF player, but, for our confusion (I had to ask my workmates from the flash department where can I find it), it is rather hard to find. It’s called Adobe Flash Player Projector Content Debugger (oh…) or Adobe Standalone Flash Player.

You can download it here for Windows 10 and Mac:

There you go! Now you can play your SWF files as easily as viewing a GIF file.

  1. nice, I’ve never seen standalone player other than v8 r22 until I see this one : )

  2. great! and thanks

  3. This Standalone Player is Good but It does not contains File Association directly with SWF files.

  4. Mr.C.M.PANDYA,

I believe once it is installed, the association takes place automatically. On your computer does it open with another program?

  5. How are you supposed install Adobe Standalone Flash Player?

  6. Thank u so much, i have been looking for it since too long, thanx again.

  7. Mike, it’s an ordinary .exe. You just need to double click it and install it as any other program.

  8. the adobe player is a bit rubbish if you need to play movie-type swfs, since it doens’t have a playhead , and the forward/back shortcuts aren’t working on my laptop. hopeless!

  9. is it free not trial

  10. Thanks a lot for the link…

  11. I’ve been searching frustratedly all over for just this simple minimal edged player.. Thank-you very much! I knew it had to exist somewhere… You would think Adobe would advertise its link a little more obviously, or the fact it has a player outside of a browser, as the browser plugin takes up a lot of screen real estate.. and for lap top screens way too much.

    Thanks again.

  12. Here you have two tiny SWF player.

    Flash Movies Player:
    http://www.eolsoft.com/freeware/flash_movie_player/

    SWF Opener:
    http://www.browsertools.net/SWF-Opener/

  13. I’ve seen a standalone SWF player as a part of Adobe Flash CS3 and up, but never an official one for the general public. Great find, thank you!

  14. I use flash player V10.0 (2009) … under linux.

I’m looking for a new version, because of full screen slow down!

But, will it be done ?

  15. thanks bro, it’s works so well as you promised..

For those who have installed but the application did not integrated with your computer.. Just open the application and click & drag the swf file into it..

  16. thx so much :D it’s a big help

  17. I am getting this error on my vendors SWF file:

Error: Error #2067: The ExternalInterface is not available in this container. ExternalInterface requires Internet Explorer ActiveX, Firefox, Mozilla 1.7.5 and greater, or other browsers that support NPRuntime.
    at Error$/throwError()
    at flash.external::ExternalInterface$/call()
    at thefilename/onPreInitialize()

Does this mean this SWF can only run inside a Browser?
If so, is there a “wrapper” container to test it standalone?
    thanks

  18. Thanks so much..!! Solved my problem.

  19. Thank you! I’ve been searching for this for atleast 20 minutes…

  22. I just found out that you can download the most up-to-date standalone swf player from adobe’s site. Just go to http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html and scroll down a bit. You’ll see the download links for the flash debugger setup there.

    Cheers

  23. Thanks a million for this! I searched for literally days to fins a stand alone player. Never occurred to me to search for a DEBUGGER! You saved my project!

  24. omg, absolutely brilliant trying to find a SWF player for mac for ages tried adobe and even though u have there full CS5 suite installed i cannot play my swf file but hallelujah this works!!!!

  25. Thank you very much. I thought I was going to have to install the full Macromedia Dream Weaver Suite (I still have it and wish they had not been bought up by ADOBE). This saved the rest of my day.

As for the people having trouble with the install, you may be having trouble because the program does not install in windows permanently like you are used too. The program runs in a stand alone manner, which means you will need to run the setup each time you want to run the software, and when you close the software it stops running. When you want to run it again, you will have to run the installer again. This is true of many older programs that were designed to run on their own.

If this is too confusing and you need it to look and work via a desktop link like many other installed programs on your computer; do like I do. Place the installer
“flashplayer_10_sa_debug.exe” in it’s own folder and name the folder something you will remember like “ADOBE SWF Player”. Copy and paste this new folder into the programs directory of your compute with the other programs. In most versions of windows this is typically located at “C:\Program Files” Once you have placed the new folder in the Program Files folder, open the new folder. You should see the “flashplayer_10_sa_debug.exe” program sitting there. Right click on the program and scroll the drop down menu the “Send To” choice, hover over this choice with your curser and scroll down to the “Desktop (Create Shortcut)” selection and right click on this option. This will put a link on the desktop to the installer program and will allow you to restart the program from there. Once you know it is working, close the open folders because the task is finished.

    I hope this helps,
    All the best,
    NickFromSpace

  26. Thanks for this stuff! :D

  29. easiest to install is just place the exe flile in windows/system32/macromed/flash
then link thta file to the SWF files.

Clicking swf file opens it in flash player 10 without dialog.

  44. You saved me. Seriously, I had this before but then lost it when using another swf program by accident. I have been searching for this for a long time already and i thank you so very much. You are a hero.

  45. great tool! I was looking for ages for sth to open my swf files.

  46. Is this work on vivo y11

  47. finally found something working, keep it up bannerstack

  48. These are from 2009. If you want the standalone players updated to 2016 you should go to:
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer.html

You will need to scroll down (or just cmd + f) until you find “standalone” and download the one that works with your OS.
